Bend Oregon, Lava Cast Forest, and Cape Kiwanda
Family time in Oregon
We spent the last week of August in Oregon with not only our family, but MORE family. Oregon has always held a special place in our hearts, especially mine (Nate’s), and we were able to fly out West with my whole family.
We took the kids hiking in the Lava Cast Forest, visited Cape Kiwanda on the foggiest day ever and soaked in the views and bike riding at Black Butte Ranch in Sisters, OR.
Here’s a quick rundown of our trip. There was much, much more, but we spent our vacation actually vacationing.
We plan to spend 3 weeks in Oregon next summer in the first leg of our life as a fulltime RV family, but we wanted to make sure we did some activities we knew the kids would love. Our son is obsessed with volcanos. He dreams of moving to Hawaii to be a Volcanologist, so we WANTED to go to Crater Lake which we couldn't do thanks to the forest fires, so we settled for this awesome alternative: hiking the Lava Cast Forest. It was quiet and paved and short (which is perfect with kids).
We posted some about this on Instagram, so don’t forget to follow up there too! Also leave comments and subscribe to our YouTube channel when you’re free. We’re excited to connect with you and share more about our journey.
